NSWRL major and community competitions update

NSWRL Media Release, Updated 4.30pm Thursday 5 August

The NSWRL would like to provide the following advice for Major and Community Competitions after the NSW Government announced today the Hunter and Upper Hunter Region would undergo a snap lockdown until midnight on 12 August following a COVID-19 outbreak in the area.

The Denton Engineering Cup Round 18 matches scheduled for this weekend (7-8 August) will be postponed until the weekend of 14-15 August with the finals pushed back a week and the Grand Final to be played on Sunday 12 September, pending further advice from the NSW Government.

The Community Competitions for Group 21 (seniors and juniors), Maitland JRL, Newcastle JRL, Newcastle and Hunter Valley and Newcastle seniors will be suspended for this weekend (7-8 August), pending further advice from the NSW Government.

Please note the advice from the NSW Government means there can be NOgames and training.

COVID-19 Update

As per NSW Health advice, from 6.00pm this evening 26/6/2021, all Community Rugby League competitions are to cease matches, training sessions or like events until further notice.

The following restrictions apply to Regional NSW Areas.

·       People who have been in the Greater Sydney region (including the Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Wollongong) on or after June 21 should follow the stay-at-home orders for a period of 14 days after they left Greater Sydney. 

·       Masks will be compulsory in all indoor non-residential settings, including workplaces, and at organised outdoor events;

·       Drinking while standing at indoor venues will not be allowed;

·       The one person per four square metre rule will be re-introduced for all indoor and outdoor settings, including weddings and funerals;

·       Outdoor seated, ticketed events will be limited to 50 per cent seated capacity;
